It adjoins a nautical center and its "wellness" complex with outdoor pool and a huge park to offer you the charm of the countryside in the city. The historical heart of the town is at a few minutes with feet or by the regular urban bus lines but you can reach it very easily by bicycle or by tracks. You will have a private garden and two terraces with garden furniture. A private stabilized petanque and petanque balls are offered to enhance your stay. Bicycles are also available. Your holidays' residence is situated in the property garden. Nearby :Situated in the heart of Burgundy, Dijon is an ideal place to spend relax and peaceful holidays in a traditional way of life. You will be delighted by the exceptional cultural environment; architectural heritage, rich culture and city history. Actually, the old city of the Burgundy dukes’ presents hundreds of hectares of classified monuments: Dukes palace, Saint Begnine cathedral and its crypt, Saint-Philibert church, the Notre-Dame one and many other monuments. That why, King Henri IV used to say about Dijon: “the hundred bell towers city”.
The city knew its peak of greatness between the fourteenth and the fifteenth century under the four dukes of Valois authorities. The city has museums: the Arts museum, the natural history museum, the “mustard museum” but, it’s absolutely necessary to go to the Dukes palace to admire the magnificent grave of Burgundy duke dynasty’s founder, Philippe le Hardi, to feel as great the Dijon past was.
The Burgundy is also famous for its gastronomy. We think at once to its typical dishes like snails or Burgundy beef of course, then to “coq au vin” and “oeufs en meurette” (eggs with mainly red Burgundy wine) but also mustard, gingerbread and blackcurrant cream… Gourmands break for you.
To fit well with these dishes you have necessary to take the Vintage wines road from Dijon, which cross in the Côte-d'Or through the famous vineyards such as Gevrey Chambertin, Chambolle Musigny, Vosne Romanée, Nuit Saint George, Aloxe Corton. This little road permits also to join Beaune and these well-known Auspices.
Round about the city, there is the beach of Dijon who lines the lake Kir; bathing there is pleasant during warm summer days. It is an artificial lake which was imagined, deliberate and built by an old canon-mayor, Félix Kir, the father of delighting beverage that you should drunk with moderation, the Kir!. It consisted of a regional blackcurrant cream and Burgundy white win.
Your holiday residence is situated in a few minutes on foot, by bike or bus of historic district, city centre and also the Colombière Park. You can stroll on 82 acres in this amazing park (the Burgundy’s duke summer residence), play with peacock, hinds and other animals of the zoo before bathing in the outside swimming pool.
Some shops (supermarkets, bakeries, butcher's shop), which are opened 7 days a week (but Sunday morning only), are at few hundred meters away from your residence.
The airport and the railway station are at 10 minutes by car. I could came to pick you up if you want.
To join Paris, Lyon, Mulhouse by the High Speed Train in 187 mph, the journey last respectively: 1:39, 1:30 and 1:02 hour. Regular airport lines permit to join the cities of Southampton, Toulouse, Bordeaux and Nantes. Dijon is at the crossroads of Europe!
